don’t say a word

Her red cheek rested peacefully on my shoulder,  bumping along the tracks as she fell into a deep slumber. She was a gorgeous young girl; she wore a lovely smile. One that would brighten one’s day as it appeared. As if she had cultivated the art of radiating happiness. Adorable, one of a kind, charming.

Our train ride was coming to an end. The sun shone bright as it rose up above. We were offered a view of the mountains accompanied by a wonderful deep blue sky. The wistful and nostalgic smell of coffee detonated softly a few of our early memories together. Back when nothing bothered us, when we lived in the clouds.

My head was elsewhere, contemplating, as Emily resided beside me. I couldn’t help but think about her, she meant everything to me. She was mine as I was hers, and that’s all that really mattered.

« Hey, » she gently whispered in my ear, kissing my cheek. I slowly turned to her but she had already fallen into deep thought. Her wonderful silk-brown eyes were gazing at the view outside of our window. « I love it, » her thin lips murmured.

« I love you. » Her smile was warm.
